About Our Support Group

This is a support group for people with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelopathy / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and Fibromyalgia. Our group meets on the

3rd Thursday of each month, 7:00-9:00 PM at
Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210

Use the first driveway entrance coming from Fairview  Road. Then look for the separate brick building beyond the parking lot (Charles Little Activity Building). We meet in the Parlor. Look for signs on the building door and the room door.

Our meetings are facilitated by Kebbie Cannon , and  by Dr. Charles Lapp of the Hunter-Hopkins Center.


The structure of our meetings is as follows:
7:00 - 7:15 PM Announcements
7:15 - 8:15 PM Speaker/Facilitated Discussions
8:15 - 9:00 PM Sharing Time (Q&A, refreshments, etc.)

Meeting size varies from 10 to 30 on average.

Meeting Schedule

The proposed schedule for 2009-2010 is:

  • June 17 -- Dr. Nancy Waring, PhD., a therapist who has CFS & Fibro will speak to us on coping with chronic illness. Always a great speaker! 

  • July 15 --  Lunch at Souper Salad, 10046 East Independence Boulevard

Participants Wanted for Study of Fibromyalgia in Kids

Hunter-Hopkins Center in Charlotte  is embarking on a study of Lyrica ™  (pregabalin)  in adolescents with fibromyalgia. We need your help.  If you have an adolescent at home or know an adolescent  (ages 12-16) that would be willing to participate in this study, PLEASE contact the research coordinator, Wendy, at 704 543 9692.

Charlotte Fibromyalgia Freedom Circle  
Charlotte Fibromyalgia Freedom Circle (CFFC) is a wellness support group for people who want to get relief from the frustration of dealing with the daily discomforts and challenges of chronic illness. Arthritis Services                                                                           

This group offers a Fibromyalgia support group with monthly meetings the third Wednesday of each month. The meetings are held at Arthritis Services, 500 E. Morehead Street, Suite 320 at 1PM. If you need more information, you can contact Arthritis Services at 704-331-4878
